In a previous blog post, I mentioned a WSJ article about an app that rewards children for doing chores. The result? They do them.
In addition, there is a weight loss coach that has levels and points to track your progress and encourage you to lose weight. If losing weight isn't an incentive enough, what if we give you 25 points each time you log your meal, or walk a block, or read a fitness article? Yup, that'll work!
The following app encourages you to stick with your weight loss program by giving you "noom points" for each health article your read, each time you log your meals, each time you do a challenge (eg: make a workout plan), or log info about yourself.
- It has levels, each level brings you closer to your goal.
- It gives you points for each task you complete
- It tracks meals, weight, exercise, calories, etc.
- It notifies you to do your tasks on the HOME page
We can use this principle in our app because it will encourage patients to log info, and reward them for staying with their program.
They can gain points for entering medical info, each time they take their medication, each time they go for a doctor's visit and get blood drawn, etc.
Level 1: Log your patient info and they won't advance until they do so
