HealthTap: Another Winner!

HealthTap is another great app that I came across today. It is very much like what we discussed and has many of the features that we want in our app. It's pretty much a more developed HepCure, except it's not specific to Hepatitis C and it's more focused on social interactions between doctors and patients--all of the content is based doctor's posts (not to worry, 1.2 million doctors use the app)--instead of info that was added before the app was created (what we're doing).

These are the opening slides of the app, when creating a profile. I was shocked to see that it has everything that I wanted to include! It was actually pretty freaky because I thought that my ideas were original, but these guys have it!!
Slide 1:
  • Basic info to create a profile: name, gender, dob, zip code/country, UPLOAD A PIC
  • I liked the personal touch with the gender icon (heals vs loafers)
  • The options to create a profile were: take photo, upload image, choose from our gallery.
  • They were encouraging in uploading a photo by saying, "put a beautiful face to the name."
Slide 2:
  • enter the name of health topics you're interested in, conditions you have, medications you take, symptoms you experience, or procedures you've had.
  • I'd skip this step because we'll have other fields in the app to enter this info
  • typing, instead of scrolling
Slide 3:
  • when typing hepatitis c, they had a list that fits the characters I've already typed, a function that I suggested early on
Slide 4:
  • find the best doctors
  • based on the zip code provided (1) and conditions entered (2), doctors with the best "docscore" are recommended and you "follow" them (similar to twitter).
Slide 5:
  • The good thing about this app and it's profile questions is you can skip a step...this gives the user freedom
  • should we include "skipping" to our app?
Slide 6:
  • type the name of your personal doctor, instead of following the best rated doctor in step 3.
  • "following" a doctor doesn't mean that he's your doctor, it just means he can answer your questions and help you out
  • he can potentially be your doctor
Slide 7:
  • you can type the name of your doctor, I searched Dr. Atreja and found him!
  • similar to the "search" function I described
Slide 8:
  • I created my profile, an a welcoming message comes up, "Hi Rebecca!"
  • percent complete (35%) with my profile, I can finish it later.
  • functions listed: ask doctors, feed, tips, find doctors, conditions, symptoms, apps, wellness, your
