I am honored to be appointed as the Chief Technology Engagement and Innovation Officer, Dept. of Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I will continue my clinical role in Gastroenterology and directing the SinaiAppLab. This is the first position of its kind and affirms the need that along with technology innovation, equally (or more) important is engagement with technology for patients and providers at all levels (including clinicians, researchers, quality officers). Our goal is that “No Person Left Behind” when it comes to technology use in healthcare by ensuring informatics makes into the “Common Core” of undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education for healthcare professionals.
